Hillery Dikker is a content and development editor for Fire Quill Publishers. She is a passionate reader and museum professional who aspires to guide authors and their work to its full potential. On a sunny day, she can be found curled up in a chair reading YA, fantasy, historical fiction, and romance novels. Authors she can’t put down even if she tried include P.C. Cast, Jane Austen, Charlaine Harris, Melissa Marr, and Karen Moning.
Jessie Campbell is an editor at FQP. A frequent panelist at UTOPiA Con, she worked in the editorial department at one of the largest independent book publishers in the US. She holds a bachelor degree in sociology from MTSU and a certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She has experience proofreading, copyediting, line editing, and developmental editing YA and middle grade novels, adult nonfiction, and picture books. Jessie’s editorial style is about helping the author’s voice shine through — polishing, not demolishing. She believes that a good relationship between the publisher and the author is the best way to serve the reader.
Jessie is a fiction writer with over fifteen short publications at indie presses. One day, her own novel will be published — if it doesn’t kill her first. She’s obsessed with books (with a soft spot for fantasy), hiking, dogs, sharks, ancient history, and global travel. Her wanderlust led her to sell everything and move to Costa Rica, where she lived for two years. Only a job as an editor in the book business finally drew her back to the States, where she now lives in literary Boston, Massachusetts.
Zoë Markham is one of our content editors at FQP. She has a BA hons. in English Language and Literature, and a Postgraduate Teaching Certification in secondary English. Having been an advance reviewer for publishers such as Hodder, Tor, and Harper Voyager for many years, she’s a real SF/F aficionado, and is never happier than editing manuscripts where dragons, elves or magic might be found. If Zoë’s not editing, you’ll find her working on her own series of soon-to-be-published novels, or curled up with a good book and a steaming pint of Builder’s tea.
Sandra Valente is one of our editors, as well as proofreader (line editing) at FQP. Books and the written word have been her passion from a very young age, so much so, she’s spent most of life falling in love with fictional characters and writing poems. Her love of fiction, grammar, reading, and newfound attempt at penning her own novel―which she hopes to complete before she’s old, grey, and decrepit―comes across in her utter dedication when working on an author’s novel. As a result, she’s often found burning the midnight oil. Besides her obvious love of reading, she’s an avid creator of book tour banners; a wannabe graphic designer, runs a book review blog, is a huge animal lover, cries at the drop of a hat whether over a book or movie, and is passionate about helping people. Never a day goes by without her offering someone a smile, simply because it’s nice when a complete stranger cares. Sandra is very open-minded and loves a variety of genres with her top favourites being paranormal, romance, thrillers, chick-lit, contemporary, and romantic suspense. Some of her top authors are J.R. Ward, Karen Rose―whom she’s met twice, Kristen Ashley, Kresley Cole, Lara Adrian, and Shannon McKenna. To her husband’s detriment, she’s addicted to shoes and cappuccinos.
Joemel Requeza is the concept artist, graphic artist and illustrator of all the artwork at Fire Quill Publishing. His covers consists of The Dragonian Series and Dream Casters.
Monique Fischer is our Acquisitions Editor and also one of our content editors. All submissions should be directed for her attention. She is presently studying at UNISA in South Africa for her degree in editing. She loves everything to do with books, from covers to reviews to discovering a hidden gem. She will read all genres but fantasy, sci-fi, paranormal, thrillers, and mysteries, always get first priority. She does love a good romance, too, and nothing beats curling up on the couch at the end of the day with a book to get lost in. You can reach her at email@example.com
Anika DeBeer is the team’s admin assistant. As a picky reader, she loves mainstream novels that immediately pulls her into the story. She favors romance, fantasy, and mystery novels.
