I don’t get many submissions as it first go through a long line of employees before it lands on my desk. But man, can I just say, the few that I’m getting is seriously amazing stories. I cannot believe that there is so many talented authors out there, and that they wanted to be published by us. That is seriously such an honor.

So when Majanka Verstraete (need to make sure I’m getting her surname right) Ghost Slayer landed on my desk, I couldn’t wait to delve into it. It’s a very dark fantasy/paranormal story, and believe me when I say, it had a few of our employees reading through their fingers, which covered the eyes. When it’s time to sleep, the book has to be put down as you don’t want to read it in a torch light as many of us did when we were younger.

The cover reveal will be announced soon and man can I tell you this, Joemel did a brilliant job capturing this one. All our covers are telling a little story of it’s own and Ghost Slayer’s cover is no different.

You can find out more about Majanka right here on her very own author page.

That is it for now. Welcome Majanka and I hope you are going to feel right at home here at FQP.

Till later.

Our very first 2017 release, and it’s a JOURNAL!!!

Good day everyone,

Oh man are we excited for 2017. This year is filled with changes, scary ones and exciting ones, but changes we have to make so we can grow forward. Very please to announced that we finally have an USA distributor to distribute all our novels into all the stores (if they’ll have us) shelves. So excited about that one, and we have our first 2017 hot new release which is a Journal, and not any Journal, the Journal of Blake Leaf. It’s part of the Dragonian series, and if you have no idea who Blake Leaf is, well, I suggest you go and purchase the Dragonian Series and find out.

blakes-journal-epubHis Journal is filled with his darkest secrets and the fun part of it all was that Adrienne didn’t write this one alone. She had the help of Poets from all over, but end up mostly co-writing this one with Local author, Lea Cherry.

“Lea just captured Blake’s soul so beautiful and even brought my inner poet forward in times I really needed to write something no one else but me could write. Still, she perfected my poems too,” was Adrienne’s reply when asking why she co-written this journal and not any of the other novels.

15595886_1277129619020822_1341509556_oWhat you didn’t know is that Lea is already and FQP author, she loves the co-author thing, and hopefully one day will solely written a novel just for us. She has written a children’s novel with Zandre Du Preez, Lumin finds a Lighthouse, under her real name, Leandri Geldenhuys.

The fun thing about this journal is that it doesn’t just belong to one of our beloved, bad boy characters, but that there seem to be many empty pages unwritten for you to use as either a journal, or to write your own ideas for stories.

Adrienne and Lea is busy taking orders for custom made journals, meaning that it’s going to look exactly like the paperback, but with a real leather journal, a replica of the paperback that will come in a very special box with real newspaper clippings, origami birds, and love notes that we just couldn’t get into the paperback as we would’ve wanted.

So look out for their order form coming soon.

Hope you are going to enjoy this one. Loads of work went into it and loads of love.

Till later,

FQP Team

Genre: Fantasy
Publisher: Fire Quill Publishing
Cover Artist: Joemel Requeza and Sandra Valente

Book Description:

Hansel never asked to be a hero. He never wanted to fall in love with Rapunzel, Queen of the East. He didn’t ask to be raised by Gothel the Wretch, and he certainly never wanted to be credited for her arrest. But more than any of that, Hansel never wanted to lie: but he did. He lied about everything. He thought that he was done with it all when he and his sister Gretel retreated into the woods to reclaim their land, but he should have known better.

Years later, Rapunzel’s guards knock at his door, and they say the words he hoped that he would never hear: Gothel has escaped. As he and Gretel take refuge inside Rapunzel’s castle in the eastern capitol of Hildebrand, Hansel is thrust back into everything he never wanted in the first place: his lies, his legend, and his lust. In the wake of it all, he knows that Gothel has escaped to finish what she started. She is out to make sure that the Sleeping Beauty never wakes, and that Grimm suffocates under her blanket of thorn and vine. In order to find Gothel and save the kingdom, Hansel and Gretel must look for fact in a land of fairy-tale by following a trail of grisly murders, a girl in a red cape, and a powerful little man who can’t stand the sound of his own name.

As they search for answers, Hansel finds that he isn’t the only liar in Grimm, and that there may be a traitor among them of royal proportion.

Cover revamps

Here at FQP we are always open minded.

Going through life, fighting against everything, is no way of moving forward. So when we feel that something might not be working, we change.

Yip, even though covers were gorgeous, we changed because of various reasons. So today I’m extremely honoured in revealing those changed.

Two authors went through complete cover change. Their covers, although beautiful, wasn’t the right fit for YA. So we change them.

Hope you love ’em as we sure do.

Cover reveal for It Had To Be You by Melissa Kate

Good day to all the FQP readers,

So today I am so excited to reveal one of my favorite stories, It Had To Be You, written by Melissa Kate, a true South African. This story has the potential to make it big. And I mean big. I haven’t giggled and fall in love with characters like Emma and Oliver, for a long time.

They are so real that it feels as if I could have had a pastry at Emma’s bakery and swear that I must have seen Oliver somewhere, keeping the law, and drool just a bit.

We don’t have a publication date yet, all we know it’s scheduled for 2017 and we are in the first print run for upcoming reviews etc. What we can show you tonight is…..the beautiful cover. Our designers are from all over the world and this one created by Amy is one that blew me away. It literally took my breath away and hope you would like it too.

An edgy romantic suspense novel written by award wining YA author Carlyle Labuschagne as Bailey Quinn

THE MOMENT DETECTIVE SCARLET ANNE MARTINS stepped into that prison, her resolve began to wane, a struggle she had long forgotten between heart and head. Unable to deny it any longer, the feelings she had for Alaric were strong—and her desperation to save him, would ultimately be what would killed them both.
For a super cop, her judgment in men truly failed her. But while her life, and anyone’s who tried to stop her was in mortal danger, she had to forget every single detail about Special Agent Blade. Her primary focus was getting through the next twenty-four hours without killing anyone.
Thereafter, her purpose would be to find a way to put behind bars those who were framing her for murder, and the bombing in New York City. It would prove to be an almost impossible task, since she had become a fugitive in a foreign country.
This time, her drop-dead gorgeous looks and South African accent would work against her in every way—she would be recognized in a heartbeat on the streets. With nowhere to run, she made the decision to face the peril head on and ensnare the evil that was coming for her, and the only way to do that was by giving them what they wanted.
